The work "Walk Me" focuses on when independency has been lost and all that’s left is submission and waiting. In Figenschou's work she's focusing on the subject matter of desire. From it’s symbolic meaning to it’s more real manifestation in sex. As a woman, she is concerned with, and affected by, representations of sex. In her work she`s been dealing with ways on how to represent her genders sexuality without being either objectified nor victimized. Working on how to be the defining subject, the one in power over the representation. In her videos she`s been trying to map a psychological territory in the land of wanting and needing. On how meaning changes depending on what position you’re in. |
