"Can I be a Woman" is a theatrical meditation on the idé of Scandinavia by Kristian Ø. Dahl and Remi Brandsegg. Winter time in a snowy desolate place; a hooded man is confronted by a tempered longhaired (bewigged) man. The latter asks the one with the hood questions about he´s gender, “can I be a woman?”; no answer. The one with the wig swears and jumps back in to he´s car and leaves with a roar, the person with the hood runs of in the opposite direction. “Mr. Wig” turns and catches up with the fleeing person to apologize and to explain about he´s personal problems, still no resolution, they part again. Just another drama under the scandinavian moon. Kristian Ø. Dahl graduated from the Art Academy in Bergen and Oslo in 2005. His solo show NIGHT is currently running at Gallery TAFKAG (The Art space Formerly Known As Galuzin). He has also had a solo exhibition at Gallery Fimbul in Oslo, and has taken part in a number of group shows nationally as well as internationally. |
