Camera, editing, sound design: Darko Lungulov TRT: 3'20" Somewhere, in the picturesque green valley, there were a lot of rusted empty car shells. Darko Lungulov was born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. He moved to New York City in 1991 where he obtained his BA in communications, film and video from City College of New York. From 1997-2003 he has worked at the production company Spiral Pictures/Ross Institute, as co-director/co-producer of documentaries (most notably “Sonic Convergence” international music documentary production -USA, China & Sweden, featuring Quincy Jones). Additionally he was a Media Studies faculty member at the Ross School. Also, as an adjunct faculty member he taught at Media Program of Southampton College of Long Island University. During that time with Chilean artist Isabel Klotz, Darko created numerous video projects, most notably: "Everyday Mantras", 1997, Part of III Bienal de Video y Artes Electronicas de Santiagode Chile,;"Catodo". 1998 Video commissioned by National Museum of Fine Arts, Santiago de Chile; collaborated on Alix Pearlstein’s “Partners” 1999. In August of 2003 Darko founded an independent production company “Here and There Productions”. Since then he shares his time between Serbia and USA. The first “Here and There Productions” film “Escape” directed by Darko, won the Audience Award at its word premiere at Hamptons International Film Festival in October of 2004. It was screened at numerous film festivals (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam 2004, FEST 2005-Belgrade, Doc Festival Leipzig 2005, Zivot=Life Doc festival, goEast 2006-Festival of Central and East European Films.) Currently, Darko is pre-producing his first feature film, work title “Here and There”. The story takes place simultaneously in New York and Belgrade. |
