  • From the Music Box | Milica Crnobrnja
  • the video:
The passage from David's psalm 116 "Come back, my soul, to your own peace" seems to offer pure optimism and safety that calms all existing - the tranquility which I could not find perhaps beyond myself. While at the same time an enormous fear in questioning from what disquietude, from what experience should I emerge. The video "From the Music Box" reflects the necessity of changing. More subtle maybe... A small plastic ballerina doll personifies my own experience when questioning (to hermeticy? to insomnia? in simulation?). For her this environment is appropriate because the ballerina, even when tied by brutal but corresponding mechanism, still ideally spins around in her music box.
